Verse, we shall be writing in verse. - 250 words
- a post suitable for a simm (character action, scene description, even speech)
- all written in poetry, in verse
- Due Sep 4 midnight GMT
Have fun! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meter_%28poetry%29 Grab the style that suits you, and go for it. I mean I could get all specific on you but I'm not really that kind of guy, poetry is hard enough without someone telling you want you got to wax lyrical about.

In the Mediterranean Ocean, early in 1797, The Dragonfly was leeward (downwind) of the two frigates and could not sail directly towards the battle. Their consort the jack-ass frigate of 28 guns was pistol-shot from the 36 gun French frigate Aréthuse and the two were hammering away at each other, the Griffin could not sustain that kind of punishment... ________________________________________ As the Dragonfly sailed away, the wind not serving, the mighty roar from the two ship, neither swerving. A Jackass Frigate of twenty-eight guns, English pride flying, her men heroically plying the guns, sweating, swearing and dying. The French Aréthuse of thirty-six was feeling the sting, her decks bloody, guns overturned and the Mainyard hanging by the sling, But they had a bigger ship, bigger crew, bigger gun, their victory was clear, it would not be undone. We sweated and plied, sailed and cried, the fray to bring the Dragonfly in, around came the wheel, the men worked with a cheer, to abandon their own was a sin. As we worked our way back, the Dragonfly sailed and she tacked the halliards squealed the rigging hummed, the sails bellowed and cracked. |

A dare, a double dog dare. I share I think it not fair but share. double dog dare Lupe say's I dare. He double dog dare me write a rhyme poem. I say unfair. But I could use a pear or an heir for which I think I will share. I could go bowling and get a spare could be fair. From four to six I has my picks of words two hundred-fifty, or pick up sticks, I think it is iffy to get two hundred-fifty. But alas my ass is grass if I half ass and not win, I take a spin for a win and if it could be a fin. Why a fin? I guess the spin has a fin, or it has gone fishing. |

Through an ancient door she crept, down a dusty hall, “I wonder” the woman thought, “Have I been here before? Around a corner. then a bend, o’er clutter she did crawl Shift s and changes did abound, in this corridor. From the floor a dark mist rose , obscuring things from view Hiding objects in her path, gripping her with fear. Her progress faltered, Cara froze, not knowing what to do. She was feeling all was lost and that the end was near. She closed her eyes to calm herself, her hands upon her knees Delving deep within her soul, for courage to embrace. A gentle warmth, feeling sublime , a blissful bit of peace. From bended knee, up to her feet, a smile played on her face. |
