Kate is an open person, ready to listen to everyone and everything though it might take some time before she opens up to someone else herself. Especially when it concerns to her relationship with her father. She prefers to form an opinion about other people herself instead of listening to the usual gossip that goes around in the mess hall or other places.

Strengths: Kate doesn't give up easily, if something doesn't work out one way, she'll try another way untill she succeeds. She also tries to help out people when she can. Weakness: Doesn't like talking about her family.

Kate always liked martial arts but since she got injured she now just prefers to work out or tries out new holodeckprograms. She likes listening to music or occasionally reads a good book.

History
Born in 2351, Kate and her one year older brother Mark, were raised by their father, since her mother, despite all modern techniques, died in childbirth. Since her father was a starfleet officer they followed him on every starship he served on. Seeing he was a security officer they both received a lot of training in martial arts. And it was clearly that they both would follow their father's footsteps.

Reaching the age of 19, Kate went to Earth and went through Starfleet Academy, where she excelled in the security classes. So when she graduated it was only normal she followed that direction and thanks to her brother she got her first assignment as a security officer on the ship her brother served on.

Unfortunately during one of the away missions, Mark got killed while Kate only got minor injuries. And ever since then, the relationship with her father went downhill. Kate already had the feeling that her father blamed her for her mother's death. And as if losing her brother wasn't enough, her father publicly blamed her for losing his wife and his only son. And he announced that he never wanted to see her again.

Kate just focussed on her recovery and a year later she became assistant chief security. Slowly she moved up in rank and when she applied to another starship she became chief security. Though being at the wrong place at the wrong time, she got badly hurt again. This time she took some time off to think things through. She doubted she'd be able to give herself 100% percent again as a chief of security so a carreerchange became another option. After some extra study she decided to become a bridge officer. And in 2384 she applied as executive officer onboard of the USS Nilderly.
